For nearly half a century, the United States Navy played a crucial role in the high-stakes Cold War conflict. NHF Supports Navy Museum’s LEGO Robotics Program — This summer, we’ve had the opportunity to work with the Navy Museum on their Summer Engineering Camp, and directly support the LEGO Robotics portion of the curriculum. The camp, which concluded last Friday, brought dozens of youngsters to the museum for a four-day, team based competition. The Cold War Gallery was bustling all week with teams of children working diligently to complete the various portions of the Engineering Camp program.  Read the Full Story >>

2013 David Leighton Lecture: RADM Robert Shumaker, USN (Ret) — We are very pleased to present the video of the 2013 David Leighton Lecture, from the Naval Historical Foundation Annual Membership Meeting, 15 June 2013. The speaker was Rear Admiral Robert Shumaker, USN (Ret). In February 1965, while flying an F8 Crusader, he was shot down on a mission over North Vietnam, was captured, and spent the next eight years as a POW. His fellow POW’s consider him as a resister, leader and patriot. He spoke about his experiences as a POW, and what he learned.  Read the Full Story >>
