Service in the Cold War

THE UNITED STATES AND ITS ALLIES won the Cold War because they never lost sight of the values for which they fought - individual liberty, freedom, and human dignity. The U.S. Navy was vital to the success of the United States and its allies in the 45-year Cold War. Naval power discouraged attacks on the homeland, secured the oceans, and promoted American interests and values around the world, as it does to this day.
