Air War

Carrier-based aircraft played a key role throughout the war. They attacked North Korea's transportation system, hitting bridges, tunnels, trains, and rail lines and targeted the enemy's electricity-generating capability with strikes on hydroelectric dams. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft also flew thousands of missions in support of U.S. and allied ground troops.
